How to farm coins in Mario Kart World (to unlock vehicles quickly)

You’ll need coins in Mario Kart World if you want to unlock new vehicles, as for every 100 coins you’ll get a new kart, which is going to help you win more often. You can get coins in races, or you can follopw the method I’m going to show you today to farm coins quickly, so you can unlock every car in a very short amount of time. Today I’m going to show you how to farm coins in Mario Kart World.

To get every new vehicle you’ll need 3000 coins in total. You can get coins in GP races, so as you work your way through all the cups, you’ll naturally pick up coins, and your coins are tracked. However, there’s a quick way to get 3000 coins, in under 1 hour of gameplay.

Get coins in free roam

To farm coins quickly, go into free roam mode. You’ll find this on the homescreen of the game, and its where you can take a drive around Mario Kart’s open-world. Stick to the road and you’ll need to look out for a small car that has 3 coins behind it. They are pretty common, so it shouldn’t take you too long to find one.

After you find the coin car, simply drive behind the car and collect it’s coins. Once you have collected the initial coins, they will start respawning, and all you need to do is keep collecting them. You may encounter an issue where the coin car gets blocked on the road. If this happens, you can reload into free roam and start again. This should allow you to collect 120 coins per minute, easily getting you to 3000 in a very short amount of time, allowing you to unlcok every vehicle in the game.

When you have reached 1000 coins, you’ll no longer get notified of the coin collection per 100, however, they are still being counted.

If you get bored of collecting coins like this, then mix it up by driving in GPs or Knockout Mode. However, free roam coin collecting is always here and it’s pretty fast. I’m unsure if this was intended, because it sure feels like it wasn’t and Nintendo may patch this out in a future update. Therefore, do this as quickly as possible before Nintendo notices!
