How to find the UFO in Mario Kart World

You’ll find the UFO in Free Roam mode in Mario Kart World, and you can launch into Free Roam via the home screen in the game. The UFO doesn’t have a specific location, it randomly spawns around the map, so you will have to drive around and search a bit. In my experience the UFO doesn’t spawn when you are off the main roads, so stick to the roads and keep your eyes focused on the sky. The UFO does have a tractor beam that shines down onto the road, so you should be able to see it from a good distance.

You may see it in the distance, so slow down your Kart and wait for it to lower down from the sky, and then it’ll start firing it’s tractor beam. You’ll want to get under it, and then drive into the tractor beam to get abducted by aliens.

How to drive the UFO in Mario Kart World

Once you have been abducted by the UFO you’ll then be able to fly around the map and explore the open-world faster than before. Controlling the UFO is the same as driving a kart, A is accelerate, B is brake and you’ll use the left and rigth sticks to steer. You can also use the tractor beam yourself to get cars and other characters on the mao by pressing R. The UFO can be useful for exploring, for example if you want to find Peach Coins or other hard to reach places.
