Nintendo reveal new Donkey Kong Bananza details

Nintendo just dropped new gameplay details for Donkey Kong Bananza! One big surprise—Donkey Kong is teaming up with a younger version of Pauline, who dreams of becoming a singer. We also got a look at the new Bananza transformations, letting DK morph into different animals like a zebra or an ostrich to tackle unique challenges.

The game includes Challenge Course Ruins—skill-based missions that test your reflexes—and you can unlock new outfits for both DK and Pauline, each with their own buffs and perks.

There’s also a fun two-player mode: one player controls Donkey Kong, while the second uses the Switch 2’s mouse controls as Pauline to shout at enemies and objects—yes, shout—to break stuff in real time. It even supports GameShare, so you can play with a friend using just one copy of the game.

And for something totally different, there’s DK Artist mode, where you can sculpt and paint your own rock art.

Donkey Kong Bananza swings onto Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17. Don’t forget to subscribe for more Nintendo updates!
